THENEW GETS A THUMBS-UP FROM TENANTS

Thenew Housing Association has been given a glowing report from its tenants in a wide-ranging opinion survey.

The tenants’ survey found that a massive nine out of ten people said they were satisfied with Thenew as their landlord.

The verdict is highly significant as the survey sought the views of an unusually large sample of around 40 per cent of Thenew customers.

The results were welcomed by the housing association, which said it “always placed the highest possible emphasis on listening to its tenants.”

Thenew operates in a number of areas of Glasgow including Bridgeton, Castlemilk, Baillieston and Blackhill and has its head office in Calton.

The association scored well across a wide range of areas, with questions posed by external researchers Research Resource.

It questioned not just tenants but owners and people living in shared ownership properties.

The association was also given a huge endorsement on its repairs service with a colossal 97 per cent saying they were satisfied with Thenew’s “repairs by appointment”.

The helpfulness of the staff was also given an impressive 97 per cent approval rating by respondents in the survey.

Generally, 92 per cent of those who responded to the survey said they were happy with the service they receive from Thenew.

The findings represent a significant improvement on the data collected when the survey was last undertaken in 2006.

Satisfaction with the way Thenew keeps in touch with tenants received a 95 per cent approval rating.

Charlie Turner, chief executive, said: “We’re delighted with the findings of this survey. They provide an important snapshot of what the people we serve think of us.

“It is vitally important that we understand their views and the excellent results are a great boost for our staff and management committee who work very hard to deliver the best service possible.”
